Background Dr. Azuka Ocheli, a sedimentary Geologist, born in Obiaruku, Delta State of Nigeria received his B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Geology from the Delta State University, Abraka in the year 2000. He holds an M Sc. (Sedimentology and Stratigraphy) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in the year 2007. He holds his Ph.D. (Petroleum Geology) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in the year 2018. He is a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geological Society (NMGS). He served as a water Geologist at Ebonyi State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (EB-RUWASSA), Abakiliki in the year 2000-2001. He has lectured and mentored the undergraduate students of the Geology unit, Science Laboratory Technology, Delta State University, Abraka. He was appointed a supervisor at the National Population Commission in Abuja in the year 2006. Dr. Azuka Ocheli joined the University of Delta, Agbor in September, 2022 as a Lecturer II. He has served as Field Coordinator at the University of Delta, Agbor in 2022, Departmental Examination Officer, 2022 till date; Chairman Committee, Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standard, CCMAS, Geology Department (2023). He is the current course adviser to year 2 undergraduates (2022-2023). Dr. Azuka Ocheli has attended several technical workshops and conferences. His current research interests are in the area of sedimentology, stratigraphy, reservoir heterogeneity, formation evaluation, basin analysis and modelling, digenetic studies, provenance, sequence stratigraphy, paleoenvironmental reconstructions, palynology, biostratigraphy, chemostratigraphy, reservoir modeling, petroleum geology, environmental geology, and field studies. In all the positions Dr. Azuka Ocheli has served so far, he has gathered adequate experience, and has proud excellent performance. In community service, Dr. Azuka Ocheli has provided educational institution for the indigenes of his community. He has also awarded scholarships to over ten students who performed excellently in their Senior Secondary School Education level. Dr. Azuka Ocheli has several publications in local, national, and international learned journals/conference proceedings. Based on the qualities of his publications and the ranking of the journal publications, SCOPUS, GOOGLE/researchgate lists his name as one of the most read/cited names in Geoscientific disciplines. He enjoys reading, swimming, philosophical literature, classical music, and field mapping. Dr. Azuka Ocheli is happily married with profitable children.
